  • Back on it AGAIN!

Well, I've been adding private entries just to vent and organize my thoughts, but I wanna say watsup to everyone too :)

Just finished buying all my books for class and also additional material (all on illustrating, figure drawing, shot design, and calligraphy/line quality).  You know a class is good when you want to buy every book mentioned and whenever the instructor speaks or teaches, you eat it all up.

830 AM .. i got my mornings back but it's taking a little time to readjust learning so early... but I have John Clapp as my teacher to Intro Animation/Illustration.  I swear, he talks a lot but for good reason.  He asked me in front of the entire class if I'm quiet in all my classes because there's a good bunch of us who are quiet and a good amount who are shy (I'm sooo not one of the shy!).  And I told him, "no, I talk in my classes it's just to early."  The class laughed, but another part is I just enjoy observing the people in my class, the social interactions, and everything he has to say.  He tells a lot of stories and has soo many analogies to compare the creative breakdowns with real life, that I don't have anything else to say, I just want to hear it all.

Oh, by the way too, I'm in figure drawing and intro to animation.  Both classes today, we had nude models.  It's a little off putting when they first come in because they're used to their job and so they go set up and stand or pose with whatever they have to do, ...but im not!  Haha.. but it goes away soon because they start timing us and looking at our work so we're all like "OK, serious time!"  ..but back on the models though it's very nice and giving for them to pose for students.  Learning a lot on figure, anatomy, angles, volume... I'm telling you it feels good to learn.  And you can tell their good spirited and nice people by the topics they talk about with the instructors and how humble and polite they are to the students too.

P.S.  Anyone got any good books to read?  Like a REALLY good book with story, twists, and character development?  A story that has a character still stuck in your mind and a plot that you feel that everyone should know too?  Feel free to share, I haven't read for leisure in a minute.

  • so, i created a blogger account

not to hate on the xanga or anything,  i just like the all around feel and set up of blogger.  Also, i just want a fresh start for 2009 so I might as well start with a whole new bunch of entries.  Most likely I'll still be adding posts here, but they'll be set to private.  However, if you would like to keep tabs on my work and thoughts, go to http://yesiamyasmin.blogspot.com/ there i'll be posting my artwork, insights, and mostly creative stuff.

however, before i move onto the blogger network, i'm gonna create my 2009 new years resolutions.
    • take care of myself
      • eat more
      • wake up earlier to prepare myself for the day
      • always take care of my plans, and don't put them second to others
    • be more time efficient
      • be early
      • complete (home)work before deadlines
      • take my time/DON'T RUSH/use my time wisely
    • always be in school
    • be there for the family (no matter what, they love and respect you, do the same in return)
    • don't always say yes, say NO
    • don't overload on work (school or job, doesn't matter.  NOT too much!)
    • get a new and better job
    • save money
      • new bank
      • savings account (DO NOT TOUCH THIS $$)
i'll add more to this, but that touches what i need to do with myself :)

  • donuts + coffee for breakfast

people eat this combination and i never understood why. it's a very unhealthy combination.  i love sugar though, always have, and i love donuts, but i've put them aside for a minute and been actually sugar free for a few months.  been very chill, serious, silly when needed to be.

today i offered to get donuts for the office.  i went to go get some and i came back with 2 dozen.  i had two.. well now i had three.. and in addition hazem gave me coffee from starbucks.  i never drink coffee. NEVER.  it makes my heart race and my breath bad.  but i had it anyway.  had coffee and donuts.

then i found out why people eat this combination.

it makes you wake the fuck up/i've been slapped with hyper all over again.

i forgot this feeling.  i love being hyper.  this is above being high or drunk --sugar rush??! i forgot how jumpy i used to be.  this is fun!  and then i had to traing the new hirees and one sat down with me -- i was professional and told her wat was up.  went fast but i'm not gonna be a dick and not repeat myself and re explain so she would understand.  ..hella silly though.  she left saying to the others, "I LIKE HER!"

...so.. had another donut again, and i'm sipping on coffee.  been looking up scary movies and scary shit on youtube... hope i dont jump and bring too much attention.

but then hey, its friday!  slow day and we usually chill around now anyway.

i sent these e-mails out too announcing my return to bringing the donuts:

I am currently moderating a meeting, but I hope you enjoyed that donut, because I went out of the office to go get them.  Before you even woke up.  Before there was sunlight.  Before the day became warm.  And even before you realized that the people at the help desk have needs too.

    However Jesus knows.
    He cares.

What would Jesus do?  He'd sponsor donuts for the cold and hungry Help Desk Agents.

    ...Cold.

    Thank you,
